As we plan for the future, Oregon-Davis Schools is assembling a community committee to help shape the next chapter of our school corporation.

The committee's purpose is to brainstorm and discuss strategies to increase student enrollment while also creating new opportunities and experiences for our current students. Together, we will begin developing a long-term strategic plan to help guide the future of Oregon-Davis Schools.

Our first meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 1, at 4:00 p.m. (CDT) in Room 125 at the Oregon-Davis Elementary School. If you are unable to attend the first meeting but would still like to serve on the committee, please email Mr. Bennett at wbennett@od.k12.in.us, and you will be notified of future meetings.

We welcome parents, students, staff, community members, local business leaders, and alumni who are interested in contributing ideas and helping strengthen our schools for years to come.

The future of Oregon-Davis Schools depends on the ideas, partnerships, and commitment of our entire community. We encourage you to join us, share your perspective, and help us create new opportunities for our students while building an even stronger future for Oregon-Davis Schools.

On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Oregon-Davis Elementary School was recognized for achieving Indiana's literacy goal of 95% of third graders reading proficiently. Mr. Bennett and Ms. Quinn accepted the certificate at the Statehouse and listened to Dr. Katie Jenner, Indiana Secretary of Education, talk about how reading proficiency has increased in Indiana. Way to go, Bobcats!

Due to the weather this winter, we have had to cancel school more than usual. The Indiana Department of Education has granted us a waiver for the day missed on January 26, when the state was under a State of Emergency declaration.

With that said, February 16, March 27, and May 1 will now be make-up days, and students will be in session on those dates. Although March 27 was not originally designated as a make-up day on the school calendar, school will be in session that day. If a student or family had preexisting plans on March 27, the absence will be excused if the student brings a note from a parent or guardian indicating those plans.

The good news is that, unless additional cancellations occur, the last student day of school will remain Friday, May 22.

Thank you for your flexibility and continued support as we work to meet state instructional requirements while minimizing disruption to our families.

Good Morning from Oregon-Davis Schools. This morning’s commute was a little more challenging than anticipated due to the timing of the snowfall. However, we are happy to report that all buses have arrived on campus safely, and students are entering the building. Thank you for your patience and for helping ensure a safe start to the day. 4A Awards Trip: Ice Skating
Students in grades 4-6 who were present 90% of the days in the second 9 weeks, have all on-grade level or above grade-level scores, are amicable, and have a great attitude were invited to go ice skating at Howard Park and then lunch at Barnaby's Pizza in South Bend on Monday! It was a pleasure celebrating the students.
